Master of Christian Counseling

The Master of Christian Counseling program can be taken in class or through guided independent studies by America Huntington University. The program is designed to prepare students to serve as educational ministers or Christian counselors in a church-based ministry. Provide a biblical and theological foundation for Christian counseling. Enable students to prepare for graduate study in counseling or related areas. Provide counseling training from the perspective of Christian worldview; Enable students to perform ministry roles with solid understanding of the psychological aspect of human growth, and Enable students to develop Christian counseling skills to address emotional, relational and spiritual needs of individuals. Articulate the church’s theological heritage as an important resource in their personal spiritual development and ministry. Communicate biblical and theological truths through counseling and other appropriate means. Describe the various styles of biblical counseling and their distinctive. Demonstrate how to equip and empower the local church ministry of biblical counseling. Apply empathic interpersonal skills in the context of the counseling environment to help people resolve spiritual, relational, and behavioral issues and problems.

Degree Requirements

• Minimum educational requirements are an earned bachelor degree from state-approved or regionally or nationally accredited institution, or equivalent.

• Successfully complete a minimum of 36 units of the following coursework with a cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale:

• Student must maintain their GPA at 3.00, with no grade less than 'C'.

• Satisfactory completion of all coursework over five semester's time (approximately twenty month's chronological time).

• Successfully complete the degree requirements within the time limit.

Time Limit

The Master of Christian Counseling program must be completed within 4 years from the time the student commenced the first course, as a regular student, which applies to the degree requirements. This time limit, at the option of the university, may be extended due to special extenuating circumstances.

Master of Christian Education

The Master of Christian Education program can be taken in class or through guided independent studies by America Huntington University. The primary purpose of the Master of Christian Education is to equip and motivate students to become competent leaders in the educational ministries of churches. This degree is the foundational degree for one preparing for ministry in Religious Education. Objectives of the program seek to encourage the student to develop skills for the performance of ministry and to strive for personal excellence in pursuing a ministry in Christian Education. Graduates of Master of Religious Education are able to serve the Christian community as directors or coordinators of religious education, Christian education, or faith formation in Catholic and Protestant parishes, congregations, or diocesan offices; or as teachers of religion in faith-based elementary schools and high schools

The Master of Divinity program can be taken in class or through guided independent studies by America Huntington University. The Master of Divinity degree is a professional degree which will equip graduates with the comprehensive graduate education necessary for becoming an ordained minister. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are expected to attain the following: A competent professional skill in preaching, teaching, church administration, worship, and counseling as an ordained minister. A healthy balance among the biblical, historical, theological, and practical areas of study essential for developing organizational, managerial, and counseling skills as an ordained minister. Master of Theology

The Master of Theology degree is a two year program designed both for the persons who wish to work in church staff positions, lay ministry, or to pursue further academic theological study. The Master of Theology is designed as a seminary-track curriculum with an emphasis on the study of the Bible. It is the foundational degree for those seeking to enter a seminary. Upon completion of the program, graduates will be well prepared to enter a theological seminary to pursue an educational program leading to the award of a Doctor degree in preparation for a career as an ordained minister. Graduates of Master of Theology are able to serve the Christian Community as Christian educators, missionary workers, youth ministers, Christian counselors, or Sunday school coordinators.
